Two decade back, few young guys introduced with a completely new kind of games & sports. That was Table Tennis. And the place is a remote part of this country. It’s a semi town-semi rural area. Udharbond. The place is in the middle of the Silchar town and Silchar Airport. Silchar is the head quarter town of South Assam. Sri Saradindu Das, the than Sr. Lecturer of D.I.E.T. who introduced this fantastic game with the local youths. And after that many young guys stated playing this fascinating game. Than the D’ Day came.

On the 2nd June, 1993, Table Tennis Club was formed with few Players. Young guys started experimenting about running an
organisation. After that the journey begins. Which is, after about 22 years still on? With every passing time, this Club reaches milestones one after. In the Sporting arena, the Club’s young paddlers started dominating the District Tournaments in regular basis. Participated in many State Tournaments. And thus, Silchar came to the Table Tennis Map of Assam. Not only playing & participating, the Club has in the mean time experienced with organizing some important tournaments. Rite from 1994 when club organised north east level silver trophy prize money Table Tennis Tournament, than Open T. T. Tournament in the year 1995 where top state players did participate. In the year 1996, the Club enters in the extended area of game & sports by organizing Rural Sports Meet successfully. And on 1997, Table Tennis Club found itself in complete different sphere of life. Associating with Rotary Club, Silchar the club organised a free eye operation camp at Udharbond. Where about one & half thousand poor patients checked up, and finally 96 patients eye were operated successfully. It’s not a very long time, but still the Club could able to manage its impact visible not only in Barak Valley, but in entire State.

An organisation which was born out of a second hand T T Board, got its own land, own building, own infrastructure which is
still in making. In the year 2001, the club initiated a new era by setting up a Charitable Heart Care Centre to extend free medical service to those people who cannot effort. Till then, this centre recognised as a unique medical facility in the entire north east India which is providing check up,E.C.G. and medicines completely free of cost. This Centre also providing subsidies X ray and Ambulance facility to the poor patients. In the time of natural calamities, this centre taken much initiative in the affected areas. The centre is providing service to the patients under the able leadership of Dr. Aniruddha Biswas and Dr. Dipankar Deb. The Club’s Sports & Social activities are going hand in hand which is witnessed by people. And
the journey continues.
