Kishore Kumar Fans club, Silchar, a brain child of Sri Sujit Kumar Das, was established on 13th October, 1987. The very day the great musical Maestro Kishore Kumar breathed his last, since then the club has been organizing cultural programme every year on that day to pay homage to the departed musical genious and completed 25(Twenty five) years in 2012. The programme is styled as “Shraddhanjali, Tomar Gaane Bandha”.

FinalLogoofKKFCS2The principal objective of Kishore Kumar Fans Club is to cultivate, spread and more popularize his immortal songs which unfailingly touch every human heart. Another important objective is to inspire through the instance of Kishore Kumar. The young and up-coming musical talents, keeping this in mind, the club organized “Little champs” (a competitive programme of children) on 4th August, 2007 at the District Library Auditorium, Silchar.

Teacher, singer Sri Sujit Kumar Das respects Kishore Kumar so much that after the demise of the legend, Sri SujitDas with his family members preformed rituals “Ashaucha” for eleven days. He uttered “I have lost my father”. Sujit Kumar Das arranges “Prabhat Pheri” on almost every 13th October where all his well wishers and his beloved students of Billabi Ullashkar Bidya Bhawan, Meherpur. Silchar Join &help voluntarily.

kishoreSujit Kumar Das, for last twenty-five years have been organizing homage programme on the 13th October with his minimum resources and with full dedication. Inthis programme not only Sujit, but his daughter Moumita Das, son Souvik and Spouse Mrs. Saswati Das performs with emotion and dedication. Besides, other eminent artists of Barak Valley use to sing in this programmeSujit adds, “every year my friends, family members, my students and my music lovers of the Barak Valley come forward and shoulder the responsibility, because of them I dared to start the homage programme and continue it. Now it is not mine rather the programme of the people of Silchar”.

Accrossing Barak, Assam, his dedication and respect to the Legend touched the people of west Bengal also. As a result in 2012 “Kishoreda The legend” (organization in Kolkata) invited Sujit Kumar Das, there, felicitated him and in their website it is written “Sujit Kumar Das, an inspiration to our organisation”.

Mr. Taimur Raja Choudhury is now the President of the club and Sri Sujit Kumar Das, the Secretary. Last year also the club observedbefittingly the birthdayof Kishore Kumar that falls on August 4.
Again the club organized a two-day programme on 12th& 13th October, 2012 as Silver Jubilee Celebration with the following activites:
(a)Publication of memorial Magazine.
(b) Sit and draw programme
(c) Symposium
(d) Exibition
(e) Quiz
(f) Felicitation
(g) Cultural programme
(h) Prize Distribution Ceremony with immense success.

The year special note:-
A burst of the Maestro will be unveiled in Silchar town very shortly. The sculptor of this bust is Sri Bachhu Das, a renowned artist of the valley. The entire expenditure for the sculptoral piece is borne by Sri Sujit Kumar Das. Who regards the departed Maestro as his Godfather.
