Business / Isaiah Oliver Color Rush Jersey
« Last post by linchao on October 12, 2018, 09:27:27 AM »
The Houston Rockets have a chance to take their first lead in the Western Conference finals with a victory over the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night.

To do that they’ll need their superstars to step up again Isaiah Oliver Color Rush Jersey , with the pressure on James Harden and Chris Paul to deliver after their big performances in Game 3 spurred Houston to the road victory that tied the best-of-seven series at 2-2.

”We’re back to even,” coach Mike D’Antoni said. ”We know what we have to do and see if we can do it against a great team.”

After two blowout losses in this series, including an embarrassing 41-point rout in Game 3, the Rockets know they don’t have any time to celebrate Tuesday’s win. It was a victory that snapped Golden State’s NBA-record 16-game home playoff winning streak.

”We have to get down to normal sea level real quick, because we’ve got a lot of work left,” D’Antoni said. ”We know it’s not going to be easy, but also they know now it’s not going to be easy. We’re looking forward to it … with the right type of fear and the right type of excitement.”

It’s a huge opportunity for Harden and Paul, who’ve both had their fair share of playoff disappointments in the past, but combined to score 57 points Tuesday’s 95-92 win that put the top-seeded Rockets back in the driver’s seat in this series.

The 33-year-old Paul is a conference finals rookie after failing to get out of the second round in his previous nine playoff trips. Though he’s never reached this level in the postseason before, his 13 years of NBA experience have proven invaluable as the Rockets try to knock off the defending champions and advance to the NBA Finals for the first time since winning consecutive titles in 1994-95.

Though the Rockets are heading to Houston for Thursday’s game, they know that playing at home doesn’t give them an excuse to let up.

”Both teams have the ability to win on the road,” Paul said. ”We had to prove that to ourselves. Weathering the storm, the runs that they made, and knowing that now we get a chance to go back home, we knew we had to get at least one win here. We got it, so now it’s a three-game series.”

Though the pressure to perform is heightened for Harden and Paul, Rockets players and D’Antoni agree that they can’t get it done without plenty of help from Houston’s supporting cast. P.J. Tucker and Clint Capela combined for 29 rebounds on Tuesday night, and in Houston’s Game 2 victory the Rockets had five players score 16 or more points.

”It’s a close series so without any of them you don’t get there Authentic James Washington Jersey ,” D’Antoni said. ”So everybody has their role and some play a bigger role – bigger meaning they shoot the ball more so we as a society give them a bigger role – but everybody is just as important.”

While the Rockets are thrilled to see the momentum of the series swing their way for perhaps the first time in the series, the Warriors are upset that they let what they feel like was a winnable Game 4 get away. Draymond Green is OK with his team having its back against the wall and believes the Warriors play well when faced with adversity.

”I know what we’re capable of and I know the level of focus and intensity that this team brings when that is the case,” he said. ”We blew a golden opportunity but it’s not one that we can’t get back. We can get it back. So there’s no panic.”

Stephen Curry said he spent much of Wednesday going over each possession of Golden State’s 12-point fourth quarter in his mind and thinking of ways he and the team could have done things better to close the game out after leading by double digits early in the period.

”It’s a frustrating feeling obviously … but we’re great at turning the page and being resilient and finding a way to bounce back,” he said.

This series has already had so many ups and downs that it could give a young person gray hair. For the already silver-locked D’Antoni, who at 67 would be the oldest coach to win an NBA title if Houston gets it done, the exhilaration of this journey has been well worth any stress it has caused.

”It makes me feel alive, I know that much,” he said. ”It feels good. You coach all year for this or even your whole career to get here or get as close as you can. It’s great competition, against one of the best teams ever.”

NEW YORK — The Atlanta Braves have fared well against teams with winning records so far this season and this week will test their success.

The first stop for the Braves will be a visit to Yankee Stadium for the opener of a three-game interleague series with the New York Yankees on Monday night.

Atlanta (48-34) heads to New York after completing a three-game sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals with a 6-5 victory on Sunday.

Business / John Tavares Jersey
« Last post by linchao on October 12, 2018, 09:13:52 AM »
After a four-week break from racing John Tavares Jersey , American standout Lindsey Vonn is returning to the Alpine skiing World Cup this weekend with an unusual mindset.

For the most successful female skier of all time, Vonn’s main priority at the first speed events of 2018 won’t be winning.

With only 40 days left until her season highlight, the Olympic downhill in Pyeongchang, avoiding injuries is all that matters.

”I feel solid but my focus this season is on the Olympics. So I am not going to risk anything this weekend,” Vonn told The Associated Press on Friday after taking part in a shortened training session.

She was worried because the snow on parts of the Karnten-Franz Klammer course was still too weak after heavy rain this week and mild temperatures.

”The top is good but the bottom is not safe to race,” she said.

Organizers swapped the program for this weekend by pushing back the downhill to Sunday and rescheduling a super-G for Saturday, as a downhill can be staged only after competitors have at least one training run on the entire course.

”I am also not sure why the super-G is first,” Vonn said. ”Considering the snow conditions, it would be better to do the downhill first but, again, I don’t know. We haven’t inspected the bottom part of the course so I am not really sure what the reason behind it is.”

Vonn said she would make her own decision about racing or not after checking the course on Saturday, saying she would rather sit it out ”if conditions aren’t good enough to run.”

Vonn badly injured her right knee landing in a patch of soft snow during the 2013 world championships, which ultimately ruled the 2010 Olympic downhill champion out of the Sochi Games the following year.

It explains the 33-year-old American’s cautiousness going into what likely will be her last Olympics.

Her season so far has been rather rough.

Trying to improve her ranking ahead of the Olympic giant slalom, she failed to qualify for the second run of the season-opening GS in Soelden, Austria, in October.

Focusing on the speed events since, she landed in the safety netting at full speed during the first downhill in Lake Louise in early December, and finished only 12th in another downhill the next day. She crashed again in a super-G on the third day of racing at the Canadian resort where she won 18 times in the past.

A week later, she jarred her back in a super-G in St. Moritz, Switzerland, completing the race in pain in 24th place.

Vonn hasn’t raced since Dec. 16 when she earned her 78th career win at a super-G in Val d’Isere, France. The following day, she took part in the early morning inspection for another super-G at the resort but then decided against racing, citing a sore knee, and flew home.

”The last race in Val d’Isere I skied very well,” she said. ”It still wasn’t my best but I had a good block at home in Colorado. I was able to do a lot of condition training and got some GS and slalom in as well.”

Vonn practicing slalom underlined her ambition to start in the Olympic combined event as well.

”I feel good, definitely,” Vonn said, adding the knee was hampering her ”not more than usual. I feel decent.”

The strength of a contending club often isn’t determined by who plays every day, but who plays only every few days. Or every few weeks. Or even every few months.

The Milwaukee Brewers were concerned when they began their Friday night game in Cincinnati with two injured starting outfielders, Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich, then lost the other starter Youth Durham Smythe Jersey , Ryan Braun, to lower back tightness in the seventh inning.

But manager Craig Counsell plugged in exactly the right pieces, and a spare outfield group that probably should be called “The Replacements” keyed an 8-2 victory over the Reds.

Business / Bengals Cheap Jerseys
« Last post by linchao on October 12, 2018, 09:00:52 AM »
The forgotten member of last year's deep tight end class makes his NFL debut Saturday night Bengals Cheap Jerseys , and Jake Butt is fired up to show he's just as good as O.J. Howard, Evan Engram and David Njoku.

Butt was considered as talented as that trio of first-rounders last year but he slipped all the way to the fifth round, where Denver grabbed him with the 145th overall pick after he tore his right ACL in Michigan's 33-32 loss to Florida State in the Orange Bowl following the 2016 season.

He was the eighth tight end taken overall, one spot ahead of Iowa's George Kittle, who caught 43 passes for 515 yards and two TDs in San Francisco.

While Butt was missing his rookie season and focusing on getting healthy for 2018, he couldn't help but keep tabs on his fellow rookie tight ends as they piled up 230 catches and 26 touchdowns last season.

"Some were arguing it was the best tight end class ever. Yeah, I kept up with them," Butt said Thursday. "Obviously, a lot of those guys did some great things. Evan Engram stands out. I got to see him live in our stadium, he was making some big plays. O.J. Howard, I've known him since high school, just an absolute beast. David Njoku, Adam Shaheen, they did well.

"And now it's my turn to go out there and compete with them and get the right to earn (the title of) who's the best out of that class," Butt said. "Man, that'll be fun. We'll all be pushing each other."

The Broncos host the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday night, and Butt will line up with the starters.

"He'll be with the first group probably for two series and maybe a little bit afterward, but not much more than that," coach Vance Joseph said.

Butt can't wait.

"I'm just ready to go out there and start playing some real football again," said Butt.

He acknowledged feeling like a wide-eyed rookie.

"This will be my first NFL game, so what my class went through last season this is what I'm going through right now. So, just to get in that stadium, in front of our fans, with my team and being out there actually participating, it's going to be a fun time," Butt said.

Butt is pain-free and has had a solid training camp so far as veteran Jeff Heuerman sits out with a sore knee. "But it's a whole different beast when you get out there and do it live against another team," Butt said. "So, I want to go out there and continue to be technique sound, work my fundamentals, block well."

The Broncos lost their best blocking tight end when Virgil Green signed with the AFC West-rival Los Angeles Chargers this spring http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/authentic-will-dissly-jersey , and Butt knows blocking is what's going to keep him on the field and allow him the chance to catch up to the rest of the 2017 tight ends class.

"We've got some talented receivers on the outside, so if you can have a tight end that they can't key on whether it's a run or a pass, that's going to put some pressure on that defense," Butt said. "And if you're able to execute, that could translate into some big plays for our offense."

Butt and general manager John Elway were hopeful that Butt would only miss half of his rookie season last year, but it quickly became apparent during the one week he was allowed to practice that he'd be better off waiting until 2018.

"The hardest part about last year was not knowing," Butt said. "Being on PUP, you're waiting, you're waiting, you're waiting and you don't know if you're going to have to wait longer. But once they shut me down for the year, it just became a focus of let me get as healthy as possible for 2018."

Butt was one of several members of the Broncos' 2017 draft class who played very little (DeMarcus Walker, De'Angelo Henderson) or not at all (Chad Kelly, Carlos Henderson) last season.

There's been a lot of buzz about this year's loaded draft class . If Butt can return to form, though, he'll give a boost to the 2017 class that's taken heat for its many mistakes and immaturity.

"I think our story's still being written," Butt said.

And he could be the lead author.

Notes: Unlike last year, Von Miller will play in the preseason opener. "He's totally healthy, he's had a great camp and we have no reason not to play Von," Joseph said. "Von's in great health and good spirits, so why not?" ... Heuerman, S Su'a Cravens (knee) and OL Menelik Watson (chest) won't play.

The Marlins overtook the Mets on the scoreboard and in the standings Saturday.

And for the second game in a row, Miami beat New York with a rookie pitcher making his first major league start.

Brian Anderson hit a two-run homer off Jacob deGrom and the Marlins climbed out of last place in the NL East by rallying past the reeling Mets, 5-2.

Business / Youth Dallas Cowboys Jerseys
« Last post by linchao on October 12, 2018, 08:47:21 AM »
GLENDALE Youth Dallas Cowboys Jerseys , Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals have one of the best wide receivers to play the game but, beyond Larry Fitzgerald, the position is a major question mark for the team under first-year coach Steve Wilks.

The names of those competing for playing time and/or just a spot on the 53-man roster are hardly that familiar: Brice Butler, J.J. Nelson, Chad Williams, Greg Little, Christian Kirk and Trent Sherfield, among others.

Underrated is a good word to describe the group, the coach said.

“I think that’s exactly the point, just because (of) the perception that there’s not any big-time there that we don’t have good players,” Wilks said after the Cardinals sweated through an outdoor practice Friday.

The receivers on the roster, he said, are better than outsiders might think.

Fitzgerald had another banner season a year ago, finishing second in the league and tying a franchise record with 109 receptions for 1,156 yards as he climbed to No. 3 on the NFL lists for career receptions and yards receiving. At 34, he was the oldest player in league history to catch at least 100 passes in a season.

But nobody else caught more than 33 for the 2017 Cardinals and no other wide receiver more than 31. Add the departure of the Browns — Jaron and John (no relation) — via free agency and there wasn’t a lot left at the position when Wilks and new offensive coordinator Mike McCoy took over.

Nelson and Williams are holdovers, Butler signed as a free agent, Little hasn’t played in an NFL game since 2015 and Kirk was Arizona’s second-round draft pick out of Texas A&M. Sherfield is an undrafted rookie from Vanderbilt who has shown promise early in camp.

Like his coach, Butler believes the group is far better than people realize.

“There’s not a lot of household names, you can say that,” he said, “but we’ve got big talent in the room.”

Butler caught 15 passes for a career-best 317 yards and three touchdowns for the Dallas Cowboys last season and sees the current situation as a big opportunity.

“I’ve just got to do what I’ve got to do, man,” he said. “It’s training camp. It’s about doing the grind day in and day out.”

Nelson might be the biggest big-play threat in the group. Exceedingly fast, his 509 yards receiving (on 29 catches) were second on the team a year ago.

“He can take the top off, as you guys have seen the last couple of days,” Wilks said.

But Nelson’s career has been plagued by inconsistency.

Williams has been working with the first team often as he enters his second year following a difficult rookie season.

The former third-round pick out of Grambling State also has big-time speed but played in only six games as a rookie, catching three passes for 31 yards.

“I feel like I’m way more advanced than I was last year, way smarter,” Williams said. “It’s an opportunity for me to really get it going.”

The dynamic Kirk figures prominently in the Cardinals’ plans Daniel Kilgore Color Rush Jersey , both as a receiver and kick returner.

“The one thing that I love about him is his motor,” Wilks said. “Of course he’s a good player. He’s smart and all that stuff. That’s the reason why we drafted him, but a lot of times you really don’t know what you get until they actually get here and they start going through their routine. This guy goes full speed on every play, every play.”

Little, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 220 pounds, “has done some great things” in a comeback attempt that Wilks said might be the player’s last chance after bouncing from team to team following a standout rookie season in 2011, when he caught 61 passes for 709 yards for Cincinnati.

“Once you separate Larry, everything else is wide open,” Wilks said. “Everybody’s fighting for that position. Those guys are really competing hard. … It’s going to be interesting to see how things shape out once preseason hits.”

A look at what’s happening around the majors Sunday:

CHICAGO’S ACE

Jon Lester has put together some ace-worthy seasons during his 13-year major league career, including four All-Star appearances and a runner-up finish in the Cy Young voting two years ago. The Chicago Cubs left-hander is in the middle of what might prove to be his finest season so far, and he’ll look to become the National League’s first 12-game winner when he takes the mound against the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday. Lester is 11-2 with a 2.25 ERA this season, and he’s won his last seven starts – including going 5-0 with a 1.13 ERA during June.

Business / Authentic Alex Ovechkin Jersey
« Last post by linchao on October 12, 2018, 08:33:28 AM »
COSTA MESA Authentic Alex Ovechkin Jersey , Calif. (AP) — Philip Rivers and Drew Brees could have an epic sports rivalry, if only they didn’t like and respect each other so much.

The ingredients are there: Brees was the San Diego Chargers‘ starting quarterback when they acquired the No. 4 overall pick Rivers in a draft-day trade in 2004. Rivers spent two full seasons behind Brees in a potentially combustible partnership before Brees inevitably left for the New Orleans Saints.

Since their breakup, they’ve become two of the most prolific and most durable quarterbacks in NFL history. The 39-year-old Brees enters the season third on the league’s career passing list with 70,445 yards, while the 36-year-old Rivers is ninth with 50,348. Rivers has started all 201 of the Chargers’ games after taking over in 2006, while Brees has started 202 of the Saints’ 204 games in that span, including the Super Bowl in which he won a ring and an MVP award.

They could be rivals with a weird start to parallel careers. Instead, they’re enduring friends who occasionally get their sons’ flag football teams together for a game during the offseason in San Diego, where they both kept their homes.

When they got together again this week for two days of joint practices between the Saints and the Chargers in Orange County, they picked up right where they left off. They also reflected on that strange two-year stretch of their careers when two of the best quarterbacks of their generation shared the same locker room.

“It was a tough set of circumstances, because they drafted him in 2004 to basically take my job, right?” Brees said. “So I think everyone always tried to kind of pit us against each other. They couldn’t understand how we could be friends or good teammates for one another when we were in the quarterback room, having that type of competition. But we were.”

And they still are.

“In those first two years, I enjoyed working with him and competing,” Rivers said. “It worked out well for him. Shoot, he’s had one heck of a run in New Orleans and won a championship. I’ve been able to have some longevity here with the Chargers. It is unique. Drew and I have always kept in touch. I have always pulled for him from afar.”

San Diego’s incredible depth chart during the 2004 season also included Doug Flutie, and the young quarterbacks both gained insight from the veteran while learning from each other. Rivers still praises Brees’ exemplary game-week preparations, while Brees believes Rivers motivated him to another level of excellence.

“From the moment I was around Philip, you realized he was going to be a very good player, and he was going to be around for a long time,” Brees said. “I like to think that for those two years, we brought out the best in each other. It was a great learning experience for both of us. I think we both got a lot better as a result of it. But from the very beginning, you knew that he’s got a mind for this game. He’s a student of the game. He’s highly competitive, and just makes plays. Look at the length of time that he’s been able to do it, in one place with a lot of different faces around him over the years.”

They’ve both still got plenty more to do as well. They’re still the unquestioned starters on two teams with realistic playoff hopes, and neither appears to be close to retirement.

Brees agreed to a two-year contract extension in March after saying he’ll stay with the Saints “as long as they’ll have me.” He is likely to leap past Brett Favre (71,838) and then Peyton Manning (71 Madison Bowey Jersey ,940) this season to become the top passer in league history, but he’s more interested in building on last season, when the Saints were one missed tackle away from reaching the NFC championship game.

Rivers is coming off an outstanding year at the controls of the Chargers’ prolific offense, and he has said he plans to play at least another handful of seasons. He will continue his three-man surge up the career passing charts with fellow 2004 draftees Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger, but Rivers is more hopeful about extending the good feelings from last season’s finish, when the Chargers looked like one of the NFL’s best teams while winning nine of their final 12 games.

Brees could claim one point of pride in this non-rivalry: He has won all three of their teams’ regular-season meetings. If they ever ended up across from each other in a game more important than Saturday’s preseason contest in Carson, both quarterbacks would welcome another chance to get together.

“I’ve always had a great respect for him as a man and as a player and what he’s been able to do in this league,” Rivers said. “He’s probably going to go down as the all-time league passer in the history of the game, so that’s pretty awesome.”

Seattle manager Scott Servais kept up the ruse on Friday night, denying that he saw Ichiro Suzuki in disguise in the Mariners dugout at Yankee Stadium.

And he mostly kept a straight face as he said it.

In a performance almost as transparent as the fake mustache and hoodie the former outfielder wore when he crashed the team’s bench, Servais said before Friday night’s game against the Red Sox, ”I’ve got to keep a closer eye on my dugout.”

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix returned to Lambeau Field for Green Bay Packers minicamp after the safety cited personal issues for missing some voluntary offseason workouts.

Clinton-Dix said that the death of his godmother following a heart attack hit him hard. She was a school principal who played a formative role in Clinton-Dix’s upbringing.

”I learned everything. I learned the principles of being a young man Jordan Poyer Jersey , not taking anything for granted,” he said.

Having the opportunity to spend time with family meant a lot to him.

”But, you know, my family means everything to me,” Clinton-Dix said after practice Tuesday. ”If I have the opportunity to be home with them, I would love to be home with them.”

The safety’s absence during some voluntary workouts in May and early June was notable given that the Packers have a new defensive coordinator, Mike Pettine. A Pro Bowler in 2016, Clinton-Dix is part of the core of a defense hoping to improve following a lackluster 2017 season.

He’s also entering the option year of the rookie contract signed after being drafted in the first round in 2014 out of Alabama.

Asked why he missed some of the workouts, Clinton-Dix first said ”family issues,” then winked .

Asked if his absence wasn’t contract related, the fifth-year pro replied ”personal issues.”

Later, Clinton-Dix said he had no deadline to get a new deal done. He doesn’t sound like someone who plans to hold out, either.

”What would it do, though?” Clinton-Dix said. ”You’re just wasting your time, really. You’re getting fined and fined and fined. I’m a guy that, I need my money, man. That’s why I’m here now. I need my money.”

Clinton-Dix was in Green Bay for three weeks at the start of the offseason program in April. He had his team-issued tablet computer the entire time while he was away to watch practices.

If there were any questions, Clinton-Dix would contact position coach Joe Whitt. A member of the coaching staff would get back to him with an answer, or send another video clip to help.

”Well, you guys can take attendance. It’s a mandatory minicamp, so things step up. But I feel really good, Ha Ha all the way through,” coach Mike McCarthy said. ”We’ve had change, we’ve transitioned through that.”

McCarthy followed recent tradition and excused 16 veterans with six or more years of experience from this week’s minicamp, including quarterback Aaron Rodgers. So practices this week can especially help rookies or younger players lower on the depth chart make impressions on the coaching staff.

Still, any time on the practice field with a player with Pro Bowl potential such as Clinton-Dix can help as the Packers hope to finish the offseason program strong before going on summer break.

”Scheme or not, all you’ve got to do is (say) `You’ve got this Jabaal Sheard Jersey , you’ve got this’ and he’s going to go out there and play,” second-year cornerback Kevin King said. ”Playbook-wise, I’m not worried about that. Ha Ha is going to be Ha Ha.”

Always confident, Clinton-Dix used word play when asked if minicamp was a time when he could play catch-up. Pettine’s scheme appears to play to Clinton-Dix’s strength and allow him to spend more time closer to the line of scrimmage, rather than 20 yards out.

”I love ketchup. Love it on my hot dogs, love it on my hamburgers and I love it on my fries,” Clinton-Dix said. ”Catch-up won’t be a problem.”

Xander Bogaerts hit a three-run homer during a six-run fifth inning, J.D. Martinez and Eduardo Nunez also went deep, and the Boston Red Sox beat the Washington Nationals 11-4 on Tuesday.

Martinez drove in four and leads the majors with 26 homers and 71 RBIs. Boston has won 17 of its last 19 interleague games.

Washington has lost four straight and 16 of 21 to fall to 42-42, its first time at .500 since it was 17-17.

Shelby Miller is scheduled to return to the Arizona Diamondbacks‘ rotation Monday Ramon Humber Jersey , 14 months after the right-hander underwent Tommy John elbow ligament replacement surgery.

Miller will face the Marlins in Miami. He rejoined the NL West-leading Diamondbacks before their game Thursday night against the Pirates after making four rehab starts in the minor leagues.

”I’m pretty excited but I’m assuming the first (start) back won’t be perfect,” Miller said. ”There are going to be times where I’m going to have to bear down and get through some stuff. I’ve talked to people (who have had the surgery) and they say command is the last thing to come back.”
