China is one of the most fascinating countries in the world with an intriguing culture. The mother tongue of the country, Chinese is also as captivating as it can get. It is supposed to be one of the hardest languages to learn and sometimes it is a little difficult for international students to get a hang of it. However, nonetheless China boasts of a lot of accomplished minds from all spheres of discipline such as Martial arts, science and technology, medicine, philosophy, etc.

EDUCATION SYSTEM IN CHINA:

The education system in china consists of Basic education, Higher education and Adult education. Basic education comprises the regular pre-school, primary and secondary education. Higher education comprises of three or four year undergraduate programs in academic or vocational branches. To secure admission in any of the Chinese universities for undergraduate courses one must either secure high scores in their secondary school examinations or clear the entrance examinations of the respective institution. While for post-graduate courses, one must be a holder of a Bachelorís degree or a three year diploma as the minimum requirement.

ACCOMODATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:

Universities in China for example, offer international students halls of residence which are guided by strict rules and regulations to ensure discipline and the studentís safety. The facilities available for the students vary from college to college; however, it will be ensured that oneís basic requirements are instantly met with. One can always choose to live in a private apartment if affordable and convenient.

FINANCING EDUCATION/COST CONSTRAINTS:

The universities would be more than happy to offer one scholarships or bursaries under the various schemes they have, if one Ďfits the billí. These scholarships cover oneís tuition fees, cost of accommodation and living expenses. This amount ranges from HK$10,000 to HK$100,000 depending on the nature of course one chooses. The scholarship given in the first year will be continued in the successive years on the condition that one manages to get appreciable academic results.
