Guru Nanak College, Chennai Admission Courses 2014-2015
Guru Nanak College was formed in 1971. This is one unit of Guru Nanak Educational Society. The name of the society is kept on behalf of the great Shri Guru Nanak Devji who is the founder of Sikh Religion. This college was formed with some objectives which are oneness of God, for spreading the ideas of brotherhood, welfare to all communities and communal harmony. This is the minority college for the Sikh community as per the articles 29 and 30 of the Indian law and Constitution. Guru Nanak College is located at Chennai, India and is surrounded by natural beauty. It is situated near the Velachery-Tambaram Road and has very good campus area situated on around 22 acres. This whole campus area is gifted by the Tamil Nadu Government for the Arts & Science College development.
All the admissions in the Guru Nanak College are carried out as per the norms of government. Nearly 30% seats from all courses and from total strength in every course are reserved for women candidates. This college is ranked in top ten colleges of Chennai. Today college offers around 17 UG i.e. Under Graduate courses and five post graduate courses. Guru Nanak College also offers some research programs in Ph. D. The result of the college is consistently increasing year by year and more students are passing out from the graduate course. At present college has nearly 300 teaching and non-teaching staff for the students.
The infrastructure of the college is very excellent and well maintained. A large auditorium with around 1000 seats capacity is near to completion. The car parking facility for the students and teacher is also improved and its capacity has been doubled. All departments and laboratories of the college are enabled with Wi-Fi connection and whole campus is equipped with the broadband connection.
