Banaras Hindu University BHU M.Tech Admission Courses 2016-2017
The efforts of founder Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya was the main reason behind the setting up of the institute of technology of the Banaras Hindu University. The first ever mining, ceramics, pharmaceuticals and metallurgical degree courses were started in India at the Banaras Hindu University under the guidance o the far sighted visionary Madan Mojan Malaviyaji. He was also instrumental in the setting up of three engineering and technical educational institutes namely the Banaras Engineering in 1919, College of technology and College of mining and Metallurgy in 1923 during the India’s struggle for freedom under the British rule. At present all the above mentioned three engineering colleges are merged together to form the new Institute of technology – Banaras Hindu University or IT-BHU.
A candidate who is interested in pursuing Master of technology courses offered by the prestigious IT BHU University must possess a valid Bachelor of engineering or technology certificate with minimum pass marks either from the Banaras Hindu University or any other university or college that is recognized by BHU. Also, students who have completed their final year Engineering or technology degree and without a valid certificate can also apply for the admission to the M tech and the only criterion is that he or she should produce the valid document before the date o entrance test or during interview or counseling for allotment of seats.
Any eligible candidate will be called for final interview or counseling to the various M tech courses only if he or she has taken up the Graduate Aptitude Test in engineering (GATE). Admission to the related M Tech course will be based on the marks that the candidate scores in the GATE examination and it is purely on merit basis.
