Pune University MCA/BCA Admission 2017-2018 course

A premier university located in the North Western part of Pune city, the University of Pune has been spreading its wings far and wide in the educational scenario of the country for the past 52 years. It was founded in the year 1949 under the Poona University Act and has been recently accredited with the highest “A” rating by the NAAC. The University is spread over a 411 acre campus and it houses about 46 academic departments. The University offers a wide variety of courses on various fields and more than 600 colleges and educational institutes are affiliated with the Pune University.

Eligibility Criteria:
Any candidate interested in taking up MCA or Master of Computer Applications course from Pune University should have a valid Bachelor’s degree certificate in any discipline with an aggregate of 50% marks either from Pune University or any other recognized University. He or she should have also taken Mathematics as a subject in the 10+2 course or its equivalent course. The MCA course offered by the University is for three years. Reserved category students need only pass mark to be eligible for admission in MCA course. A candidate seeking admission to BBA course should have passed the 12th Std examination with English as a passing subject and also should have got an aggregate of 45% marks in the H.S.C 10+2 exam.

Admission Procedure:
Any BBA course applicant will have to take a Common Entrance test conducted by the University or the respective college and admission to the course will only be given on merit basis depending on the marks obtained in the test and the HSC 10+2 exam. A Pune University graduate seeking admission to the MCA course will be selected on the basis of marks attained in the examination as well as his performance in the interview. An external student will be asked to attend an entrance examination conducted by the University and admission will be based on the performance of the candidate in the test.
