Mumbai University. In fact, the University of Bombay, as it was
called since it was founded in 1857 till the 1996 Government
Gazette order to change the name to University of Mumbai, is one
among three Universities to be set up in India. Such is the

India.
Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate interested to take BCA course in Mumbai University
will be eligible only if he has secured good marks in the Higher
Secondary examination conducted by the Maharashtra State
Government or other recognized State Governments in India. Some
of the colleges under Mumbai University will ask the candidates
to take an entrance test. A candidate will be eligible to take
an MCA course from the University of Mumbai if he or she has
completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized
University with an aggregate of 45% marks. For SC / ST students
the aggregate marks required to be eligible for admission is
40%.
Admission Procedure:
Some colleges affiliated to the Mumbai University will conduct a
common entrance test for students seeking admission to the BCA
course. Admission will be based also on the marks obtained in
the test. For an MCA course, a candidate will have to secure a
minimum of 45% marks in Bachelor’s Degree of any discipline and
also will need to have taken Mathematics as a subject in the +2
examinations.
