GRI (Gandhigram Rural Institute) was established in the year
1956. With the never-ending faith and profound devotion of
Mahatma Gandhi’s innovative concept of the ‘Nai Talim’ system
for education, the Gandhigram Rural Institute is developed the
academic programmes in the Rural Economics, Rural Development,
and the Extension Education, Cooperation, Rural Oriented
Sciences, Rural Sociology, Development Administration,
Communicative and English Studies, and Indian and Tamil
Languages. The students that appear from the portals lean to
meet personnel requirements for the rural development under
different governmental as well as non-governmental schemes.
The applicant needs to have Bachelor’s degree for any discipline
having 50% total marks or more with MATHEMATICS as 1 subject in
the HSC or in the Bachelor’s degree.
The application form having prospectus may received from the
Deputy Registrar (Academic), the Gandhigram Rural Institute –
Deemed University, at Gandhigram - 624 302. It is either through
post with sending one written request, or specifying programme
with enclosing the crossed Demand Draft favoring the Registrar,
at Gandhigram Rural Institute, to be paid at the Canara Bank, in
Gandhigram or the SBI (State Bank of India), or personally
through cash payment in Canara Bank at Gandhigram. The candidate
can apply for the admission to number of programmes however;
separate applications should be provided for every programme.

Application Form Cost
The application form cost for the MCA is Rs. 200/- personally,
and Rs. 100/- for the SC/ST, as well as Rs. 230/- through post (Rs.
130/- for the SC/ST).
