Bangalore University is one of the oldest universities in India.
It was opened as central college in 1886 by the British
government. It was renamed as the Bangalore University by UGC in
July 1964. This University is nearing the status “Potential for
Excellence” which is given by the UGC to the top ten
universities in India. At present the university is operating
from two campuses, The Central College campus and the Jnana
Bharathi campus. This university has a good reputation among
other universities, as it produces the largest number of Ph.D’s
in India. Many foreign students are getting admission in this
University.
Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate who wishes to join the BCA course in the University
should posses at least 40% aggregate mark in their plus two or
PUC exam including the language marks. This is a three year
course. For the MCA admission, the candidate should have passed
the degree examination conducted by the University or any other
recognized University with 50% aggregate marks. The candidate
must have studied Mathematics at the PUC level. This is a three
year program with six semesters. These courses are conducted by
the Department of Science.
Admission procedure:
For admission to the BCA and MCA courses under Bangalore
University, the duly completed application should reach the
concerned departments before the last date. Applications
received after that will get rejected. The list of the eligible
candidates will be published. The final selection will be based
on interview for MCA. At the time of admission, the candidates
are expected to furnish the necessary documents and copies of
photographs that are needed for the admission as mentioned in
the prospectus.
