Indian law institute, located in Delhi was established in 1956.
The university focuses on promoting legal research. From the
year 2004, it is considered as deemed university.
The university library has 75,000 books and is considered as one
of the best law libraries in India. Some of the services offered

Library is open throughout the year so as to prove advantageous
to the students. The library is closed on National and Gazetted
holidays. It offers online library catalogue for external use
and OPAC system for internal use.

The admission is based on common entrance test (CAT) organised
by the university. Graduate Degree from a well known university
is required to apply for post graduate diploma courses. A law
degree or M.A. in Social Science is required in order to apply
For PG Diploma in Labour Law.
The main objective of the Indian Law Institute is to promote the
science of law. The university has put in efforts in reforming
the administration of justice, in order to meet the needs
required for development of the country. The university is known
as the premier centre of national & international legal research
and studies. The institute also maintains a good rapport with
