of Delhi Courses Admission 2017-2018
The Faculty of Law was established in 1924. It is located in
university of Delhi. It is known to be the largest law school in
India. It offers a three year LLB course. Students from
different countries also come and study here due to its
excellent academic coaching. A minimum of 50% marks is required
for admission apart from which entrance test will be conducted.
Faculty Legal Services Program helps in spreading legal
awareness among the public and provides clinical legal
education. Activities such as moot courts, legal aid services,
legal awareness and professional skills development for law
students are also undertaken by the program. It comprises of the
law students, teachers and lawyers who participate voluntarily.
Two new courses namely Degree of Bachelor of Civil Laws (B.C.L.)
and Certificate of Proficiency (Law) were added as a result of
partition in 1947.
The courses offered are:
Undergraduate:
Bachelor of Law (LLB) - Three Years
Post Graduate:
Master of Laws (LLM) - Two Years
Master of Comparative Law (MCL)
Doctorate:
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Doctor of Civil Laws (DCL)
The university has three law centres namely the campus law
centre, law centre-1 and law centre-2 and the number of seats
allotted are 500, 600 and 400 respectively. The counseling for
admission is done as per the category rank.
It comprises of 80 full time and 14 part time teachers. The
university provides twelve hostels for male and female students
namely Gwyer Hall, International Students House, Jubilee hall,
Mansarovar Hostel, Post-Graduate Men's Hostel, University Hostel
for Women, Meghdoot Hostel, D. S. Kothari, V. K. R. V. Rao
Hostel, International Students House for Women, North East
Students House and W.U.S. University Hostel. It houses more than
10,000 students coming from outside Delhi.
