NIMCET NIT MCA Entrance Test 2015

The NIMCET is the National Level Entrance Test organized by the NITs to give admissions to the MCA program. The admission for the first year MCA program provided by all NITs may be based on rank attained in the NIMCET.

NIMCET NIT MCA Eligibility Criteria

The student having Indian Nationality had to secure 60% or 6.5/10 in the CGPA (having 55% marks or 6.0/10 of CGPA for the SC/ST candidates in all of these exams:

• 12th standard with Mathematics
• Bachelor’s Degree for any full time 3-years course from any recognized University having any one of these subjects: Statistics, Mathematics, Business Mathematics, Business Statistics, Discrete Mathematics, Elementary Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, and Elementary Statistics.

Students completing the 12th standard from any of the open universities are suitable to apply for the NIMCET. The course must be approved by the UGC or AICTE and the DEC (Distance Education Council) of the Govt. of India. It is compulsory for the student for passing the 12th level having mathematics as subject and the mathematics subject of bachelor level having 10+2+3 level.

NIMCET NIT MCA Mode of Exam
The duration of the 12th exam can be for the two hours period and may contain
120 multiple-choice questions having four options for every question. Every correctly answered question will give FOUR marks with every wrongly answered question leading to ONE NEGATIVE mark. The candidate has to mark answers in OMR sheets during time of the examination. Candidates need to carry their personal eraser, HB pencil, and black pens. Mobile phones, calculators, or other material will not be permitted in exam hall.

Distribution of the Questions
The question-paper will have 120 multiple-choice questions having following topics:

• Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning having 40 questions
• Computer Awareness having 10 questions
• General English having 25 questions
• Mathematics having 45 questions
