The Maulana Azad National Urdu University is a Central
University that was established by the Parliament Act in 1998
and is located in Hyderabad in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The
Maulana Azad University is funded by the University Grants
Commission and is the member of the Association of Indian
Universities. Te main objective of the Maulana Azad University
is to provide quality education in Urdu language through
distance education system. The main focus of this University is
on education to womanhood. There are various courses offered by
the University in Urdu language through distance mode and has to
reputation of being the only Urdu University in the entire
world. The first convocation of the Maulana Azad Urdu University
was held on 5th of August 2005 and the Chief Guest o this
auspicious function was none other than the former Hon’ble
President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate seeking admission to the Bachelor of Education
degree through distance education from this University will have
to have completed a graduate course of any discipline from a
recognized University with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. The
duration of the B Ed course through distance education is for a
minimum of two years and the maximum period is for 4 years. Also
the person seeking admission for the B Ed course will have to
have had at least 2 years teaching experience in any primary,
secondary or higher secondary schools run by the government or
aided schools or even private schools that are recognized by the
University.
Admission procedure:
The University will conduct an entrance test or the eligible
candidates and students who pass the qualifying examination with
at least 50% marks will be considered eligible for the B Ed
course. The admission will be on merit basis and the candidate
who receives an invitation for counseling from the University
will have to come with all their original testimonials to the
