Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University or abbreviated as MPBOU
was established in 1991 by an Act of State Legislative and its
main aim is to provide higher education facilities to a larger
section of the population in Madhya Pradesh and thereby enhance
the education level in the community. The Open University is
recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), a
statutory body which comes under the Ministry of Social Justice
and Empowerment guided by the Government of India. The Bachelor
of Education special course offered by the University is a joint
venture of MPBOU and RCI and is one of the most sought after
courses by many aspiring candidates in the State of Madhya
Pradesh. The flexibility in learning at one’s pace and
convenience coupled with the opportunity to learn the course at
a person’s location has made it more popular among many students
aspiring to be professional teachers.
Eligibility criteria:
Any applicant who is seeking to get into the B Ed course offered
by the Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University should hold a
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized
University. Any candidate who is either disabled or a parent of
a disabled child or one who possess an RCI recognized
qualification will be given preference than an ordinary
candidate. The duration of the Bachelor of Education course
offered by the Open University is for two years.
Admission Procedure:
The University will conduct an entrance test for the eligible
candidates at a suitable location that encompasses all the study
centers in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The candidates will be
selected for the course on the basis of merit obtained in the
entrance examination. A candidate who has been selected for the
course will be asked to attend a counseling conducted by the
University on a specific date that will be sent along with the
