The Kakatiya University stands for the best in the realm of higher and distance learning in India. Established in the year 1976 in the Warangal district of North Telangana, the Kakatiya University has crossed many milestones on the way to spreading the light of education and enlightenment. The University imparts knowledge through eleven constituent colleges backed by 24 departments. To help students who are unable to attend regular classrooms requiring face-to-face interactions or lack an opportunity to pursue higher education, Kakatiya University set-up The School of Distance Learning & Continuing Education (SDLCE) in 1988. The University has got a recognition from the Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi. It offers a total of 75 courses at different proficiency levels through 70 dedicated study centers. The centre not only supports class-room teaching but also makes use of audio-visual media as an integrated part of learning experience. This includes broadcasts of lessons as well as phone-in sessions with the aid of All India Radio, Warangal station. The center’s Kaktiya Journal of Distance Education gives a holistic view of its activities and associations with other leading centers of distance education around the world. The SDLCE functions as a Nodal Agency that imparts Training and Research in the field of Distance Education.

Towards furthering the cause of creating bright and well round academicians, the university through SDLCE conducts a two year program of Bachelor of Education B.Ed.

Eligibility Criteria
All applicants to the course should be graduates under the 10+2+3 pattern from any recognized Indian university. Secondly, the applicant should hold a minimum of 3 years of in-service teaching experience (Regular) and thirdly, the applicant should qualify in Entrance Examination conducted by the University.

Admission Procedure
Applicants desirous of seeking admission should apply in the prescribed format for the entrance examination conducted by SDLCE.
