University of Jammu Distance Learning BEd Admission
The University of Jammu is one of the famed Universities in the
whole of India and this University came into existence in 1969
after the bifurcation of the former University of Jammu and
Kashmir. The Jammu University has been accredited with an ‘A’
grade certificate from the National Assessment and Accreditation
Council of India. The University is also the first ISO 9001:
2000 University in India. The Directorate of Distance Education
came into force from March 3rd 1976 and it was formerly known as
Institute of Correspondence Education. The new campus built on a
sprawling 118 acre land inside the University houses the
Directorate of Distance Education building. The various
facilities offered to the students by the University of Jammu
include computer facilities, internet center, gymnasium, post
office, bank, auditorium, full-fledged library etc. The Bachelor
of Education program through distance education is one of the
most sought after programs by many students.
Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate who has passed the Bachelor’s degree examination of
Arts, Science, Commerce, forestry, Veterinary Science, Medicine
that is conducted by the University of Jammu or any other
recognized University is eligible for admission to the B Ed
distance education program of the Jammu University. Also, the
candidate should have a minimum of two years teaching experience
in any recognized primary or secondary or higher secondary
schools that falls within the purview of the Jammu University.
Admission procedure:
The admission to the B Ed distance education program will be
purely based on the merit obtained by the candidate in his or
her Bachelor examination. The short listed candidates will be
called for counseling on any notified date. The candidates will
have to be personally present at the Jammu University on the
counseling date with all their original testimonials. For
