The M.J.P. Rohilkhand University was recognized in the year 1975
as affiliating University. The status was raised to
affiliating-and-residential university in the year 1985 when in
the campus; four Departments for teaching were recognized. In
the year, 1987 three additional Departments were recognized. In
1997, the Rohilkhand University had given a new name, Mahatma
Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University.
The headquarter of the University is positioned at Bareilly
having its protective jurisdiction extending over districts of
Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Jyotibaphule Nagar, Bijnore,
Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, and Baduan. The University campus is
having land of more than 206 acres. The Campus possesses faculty
buildings, administrative building, Multipurpose hall, Central
Library, hostel for girls and boys, Staff quarters the Vice
Chancellor as well as other University officers, Non-teaching
staff, faculty members, Sports complex, Guest houses, and. a
medical centre.
With a view of ensuring the transparency in the admission
procedure in diverse B Ed Colleges associated to different
Universities of State of the U.P and for expediency of the
distant residents of State, the Uttar Pradesh Government has
engaged to the Higher Education Department for making the
arrangements for On-line-counselling on different places in
state. The Uttar Pradesh Government has allowed M.J.P.
Rohilkhand University to perform Joint Entrance Examination to
give admissions to the B.Ed Courses, running in different aided,
government, or self-Financed Colleges as well as Universities,
in State of Uttar Pradesh. The seats allotment in B.Ed course
for different colleges as well as universities of state is done
through central counselling committee below the Chairmanship of
Vice-Chancellor of M.J.P. Rohilkhand University at Bareilly. All
the conclusions regarding the counselling and seats allotment
are done through central counselling committee.
