Manonmaniam Sundaranar University MSU BEd Entrance Exam
MSU (Manonmaniam Sundaranar University) is named after
well-known Tamil Professor Mr. P. Sundaram Pillai was recognized
on the September 7, 1990 for catering long felt requirements of
people of three southern districts in Tamil Nadu, namely
Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, and Tuticorin. The University is
having 5 Mano Colleges, 61 affiliated colleges, 1 Constituent
College, having 65,000 students. All these colleges, among that
three are more than 100 years old named M.D.T. Hindu College,
St. John’s College, and Sarah Tucker College, oldest women’s
college of the state, having contributed determinedly to source
of higher education for this region.
The superiority and efficiency of the education, for large
extent, rely on quality of the teachers. The teachers are
important for optimum development for human resources. The
organized teacher education programme, for both in-service and
pre-service is necessary for the qualitative improvement of
education. The new knowledge body innovations in the
instructional designs as well as the newest communication
technology are accessible today. In view to this situation and
for meeting country’s future requirements for not only skilled
but also unqualified teachers, we must design the efficient
teacher education programme for motivating and acquiring
different skills.
Manonmaniam Sundaranar University is providing B.Ed Degree via
distance mode for the teachers that are working in schools for
minimum of two years. Government of Tamil Nadu, as well as
Distance Education Council in New Delhi, having given no
objection for starting this programme. The faculty members are
appointed as well as the five normal B.Ed Colleges are
identified like study Centres of this programme. The programme
is organized as per standards and norms of the National Council
for the Teacher Education.
