Pune University (PU) BSc/MSc Admission 2017-2018 Courses

Pune University or the University of Pune is located in the North western part of the Pune city. It was established as per the Pune University Act in the year 1948. The campus is built up in an expansive area of 411 acres and it houses over 46 departments of various academics. Pune University is often called as the “Oxford of the East” as it is one such University in India where you will see a lot of foreign national students pursuing various degrees every year. A total of 612 colleges that offer various graduate, postgraduate and research oriented courses are affiliated to Pune University.

Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate interested to take up Bachelor of Science three year Undergraduate course from the Pune University is eligible to take the course if he or she has secured a minimum of 50% marks in the H.S.C exam from statutory board or the University of India or any other equivalent examination. The candidate must also be an Indian citizen to be eligible for the course. A candidate interested in taking up M. Sc course offered by the University should posses a valid Bachelor of Science certificate with a minimum of 45% marks from the Pune University or with aggregate of 50% marks from any other recognized University in India. The M Sc course offered by the University is a two year Postgraduate course.

Admission Procedure:
For the M Sc courses a candidate who has done his/her under graduation course at Pune University will be asked to attend an interview or will be selected on the marks obtained in the examination. For students from other Universities, there will be a selection examination conducted by the University at their campus and student who scores high marks in this exam will be offered admission. Any student seeking admission to the University’s B Sc course will need to fill the application form and remit he fees for the test conducted by the University. On passing the test, the University will be sending an interview card. The candidate will have to go to the University with all the documents for the interview.
