Jadavpur University (JU) BPharm/MPharm Admission 2017-2018 Courses

One of the premier educational and research institutions in India is the Jadavpur University. It is ideally located at R C Malik road in the South of West Bengal. It comprises of two campuses – one is the main campus at Jadavpur and a new campus of 26 acres at Salt Lake. The University Grants Commission has identified Jadavpur University as a “Potential of Excellence” University and this credit is so far given to only five colleges in India. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) have awarded this University as a “Five Star University”. Faculty of Engineering and Technology, faculty of Science and Faculty of Arts are the three main departments of academics in this University. The University offers B. Pharm. as well as M. Pharm. course and the details regarding the same are mentioned below.

Eligibility criteria:
The Bachelor of Pharmacy is a four year course and a student who wishes to join this course should have at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in his or her 10+2 examinations or equivalent examinations. The candidate should be a citizen of India. A SC/ST candidate will have to have a minimum of 40% aggregate mark in the above subjects. A 30% mark in the English subject and Vernacular language is necessary for a candidate to be eligible for the B. Pharm. Course. A candidate who is seeking admission to M. Pharm. 2 year PG course will have to hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree with an aggregate of 50% marks from a reputed university in India and should be an Indian citizen.

Admission Procedure:
Any person seeking admission for M. Pharm. Course in this University will have to have a valid GATE score along with his B. Pharm. degree for gaining admission. A candidate seeking admission for B. Pharm. Course in the University will have to pass the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam and also will have to clear the aptitude test.
