Bangalore University BSc/MSc Admission 2017-2018 Courses

Bangalore University was earlier known as the central college which was established in 1886 by the British Government. In 1964 July it was renamed as Bangalore University. Bangalore University is spread over a1, 110 acres and is at present operating from Jnana Bharathi Campus and the Central College Campus. There are more than 60 post graduate courses offered by this University. This University has given birth to Visvesvaraya Technological University, National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Science, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science. Bangalore University is engaged in research through MoU with International Universities. This university also has an Institute of Aerospace Medicine. The ISRO has awarded Sir M Visvesvarya Chair to perform research in Space Science.

Eligibility Criteria

For the B.Sc course the candidate should have completed the two year pre- university course with science as the option from Karnataka State or equivalent courses. The candidate must have secured an aggregate of 50% mark at the qualifying examination. This is a three year course. In case of SC/ST students the aggregate mark is reduced as 45 %. For the M.Sc course the pass in the B.Sc course with an aggregate mark of 50% is needed. Eligible candidates can apply either on line or directly to the concerned departments.

Admission Procedure

The duly filled applications should reach the department before the last date announced by the University. Late applications will be rejected. The candidate should attach the necessary documents and qualification certificates along with the application form. Passport size photographs are also need to be submitted. The coordinator of admissions in the concerned department will publish the list of eligible candidates and counseling will be done on the informed date. Admission is based purely on merit scored in the qualifying exam.
